Evercred / Who we serve / Independent Practice Associations
OrganizationsIndependent Practice Associations
An independent practice association is a group of practices that contract together, often with a health plan.
What an IPA is
An IPA brings member practices under a shared contract. The association and the member practice are often different legal entities.
How Evercred serves IPAs
Evercred keeps credentials up to date continuously. It uses a combination of APIs, open data agents, browser agents, and its agent orchestration tool. It keeps an audit trail. When an agent runs a verification, Evercred records video of what the agent is doing and keeps that video for regulatory compliance. This is true for every state.
Every plan also includes manual primary-source verification on every credential.
If you are an IPA or MSO, your group may hold the carrier contract under its own legal name and TIN, while each member practice enrols its providers under that practice's TIN, because the practice is the legal party on the application. Evercred is building that two-level structure now. Today the product holds one tax ID per organisation.
Today Evercred covers physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. Other clinical roles are rolling out.
